Brian Olsen in my office wrote this piece about the cruise ships that we get every year. I love it because the cruise ships add such great visual interest when they are here - mostly to Magnolia and Queen Anne residents of course! I got this shot form Magnolia just over the Magnolia Bridge.
They’re here!
…to transport passengers on an Alaskan getaway. The cruise ships are great for Seattle tourism plus local businesses and also treat residents of Magnolia and Queen Anne to a moving landscape from their very own yards. Some locals are upset with more Interbay traffic and up & down the Magnolia bridge or in Interbay. Others close to the pier complain of loud music and pollution created by the big boats, but mostly the cruise ships contribute to both Magnolia and Queen Anne views. One can’t deny the ‘cool factor’ when the ships announce departure from Puget Sound with the deep bellow of the horns.
Seattle sunsets with 202 scheduled cruise ships to set sail will create countless images and motion for folks to follow.
It’s estimated that each boat contributes $2 Million to the local economy and about 4,300 jobs to people around the Pacific Northwest. Many photographers, including ones within our real estate industry, capture ship traffic to add visual interest to pictures posted on our property listings. Queen Anne View Homes demand a premium price. Even a peek a boo view out of the corner of a room is desirable by Queen Anne buyers. There are many different types of views from the hill. When creating listings I tag the type of view it has because it’s an important feature of the property. Whether the home has East, West and or Western exposure are all details to share with readers.
If you have any questions about listing a Queen Anne property for sale and how to make it stand out, let us help you.
If you are looking at homes on Queen Anne hill here’s a great resource for finding out more about the area…
Seattle real estate, in particular Queen Anne properties have truly benefited from the views they have over Seattle’s historic landmarks. There are many spectacular homes for sale on Queen Anne right now and for more details on surrounding neighborhoods go to www.cooperjacobs.com.

About Me:
Seattle real estate has been a big part of my life for well over a decade since I began my career in real estate, but also before that time when I was in the process of purchasing my own first home. Buying your first home can be quite overwhelming, but I have managed to help many first time home buyers along the way.
Move up Seattle buyers and other types of specialized purchasing is a great passion of mine! I love Seattle houseboats and you can find me down on the docks of Lake Union and Portage Bay several times a week. Other aspects of Seattle real estate that I adore include Queen Anne Real Estate,Wallingford Real Estate, Ballard Real Estate, Green Lake Real Estate, Laurelhurst Real Estate, Magnolia Real Estate, andSeattle Waterfront Real Estate.
In addition to being a Seattle residential broker and founder of Cooper Jacobs & Seattle Afloat, I am also a member of CBA (Commercial Brokers Association) and head of the Cooper Jacobs Commercial Division in an effort to provide excellent commercial real estate services to the Seattle commercial real estate industry. With a background in accounting and management, it is my great pleasure to coordinate our Seattle commercial brokers.
